Featured Masterclass Student: Dahlia L.
Featured Masterclass Student of the month for May 2020 is the delightful, Dahlia Lee! @dahlijlee on Instagram.
Dahlia is the captivating blend of being a delicate beauty and a powerhouse of badassery. From the minute I met Dahlia I was drawn to her as a mover and especially drawn to her unique personality and seeing that personality shine through in her work! She’s fierce. She’s bubbly. She’s got attitude. She’s energetic. Most of all, she is the biggest sweetheart! One of my favorite things about meeting aerialists around the world is experiencing their individual excitement for dance and movement. We all have our own aesthetic, stylistic preferences and communities. When we find common ground, that connection can be so invigorating. Dahlia sets her soul free through movement and when I watch her dance I get to witness her love and passion for aerial unfold right before my eyes! She’s a kindred spirit and we help EACHOTHER grow through our dedication to aerial. Thanks for trusting in me as one of your friends and mentors on your aerial journey, Dahlia!
Here’s a little bit more about Dahlia:
“I’m a singing aerialist. Also known as “the flying siren”. I started aerials because I wanted to be cooler than Pink. (And after I performed my first singing rope routine, I know I’m cooler than Pink) I was a gymnast and cheerleader growing up so the strength, flexibility, and performance aspect of aerials is what really drew me in and started my obsession. I have been training for over 5 years and I do almost every apparatus but my specialties are sling and chains. I am an instructor at Moxie Mischief Aerial Arts & Altitude Fitness Frisco in Texas and I have absolutely loved teaching these past couple years!
I joined Holly’s Masterclass to broaden my sling knowledge, be part of a sling community, and to have constant challenges so I’m never at a loss for things to learn and practice.”
